This top can easily spin for 3 minutes. As it weighted perfectly it achieves a precision aerodynamic balance that is rarely seen in a child's toy. A child can spin with the fingertips or use the holder to get a nice and smooth long spin. Simply place the top's wooden dowel in the holder, wind the cord with the birch bead and pull. This top is left unfinished so a child could use paint or makers to color the top for a clever kaleidoscope effect. Yet, the launcher also works with a propeller.
"WOW! Look at that thing soar. I think it touched the clouds!" as said during our photo shot on a farm.
Call it a toy helicopter or whilrygig. Whatever the name just wind up the rip cord, give a tug and watch it fly. Sometimes called a puddle jumper this toy is an age old classic with the addition of the launcher. The wood toy propeller can fly quite high, so it should be played with outside where there's lot's of room. Adult supervision is recommended.
